Generation V
Bujar Mallakaj, Kosovo: "The lessons within this school have covered a wide rang of different aspects and causes of a conflict, at the same time have shown and explained many ways and practices on how to solve a conflict, but the most important I’ve learned great things on how to live peacefully in a post conflict region."
Jelena Grubor, Serbia: "Well I must say that I have not gained so much knowledge, as I have renewed my old knowledge more then gained new. But however, it was arranged in somewhat different context as I have studied it, and it was put it in some modern context which provided excellent examples."
Adel Abusara, Serbia: "I have heard some things I wasn't aware of, and sharing my opinions with other participants, I have found out different ways of resolving conflict situation, or dealing with the post-conflict problems."
Amela Catovic, BiH: "… For myself the most important part of learning is discussion within the group. So it was good to see other opinions and to think about them, because most of examples where interesting and they offered new perspective. I can also mention that through VS it was possible to explore some other aspects of conflict on macro level."
Marija Atanaskova, Macedonia: "I work as a teacher and I can completely apply the part of conflict resolution and communication in my everyday work so in order to create a healthy learning environment for all the children."
Oskar Konja, Serbia: "Yes, definitely! I'm mostly trying to apply it at my workplace in the team I work within. I'm trying to build up managerial skills so this education definitely helped me understand that conflicts always happen, and the main question (and my task) is to how to deal with it, how to resolve it."
Generation IV
Moamer Tershnjaku, Dragash: "E-learning is the most inclusive form of learning, because it is accessible for everyone, no matter of living place, age, social status, etc. For me personally, it was the moist creative educational experience so far."
Aco Markovic, Plevlja: "It’s very interesting, innovative and useful, because even some of us who have many obligations (jobs etc.) can participate."
Damir Kapidzic, Sarajevo: "A very new concept in the region of SE Europe and the Caucasus. A great way to introduce this concept to many people. It enables high quality learning and participation of many people at low costs."
Edjola Dalaci, Tirana: "Nowadays for everyone the pressure of time is maximal. And if you wish to succeed and advance in career you need to be up to date. Development, besides other things leads to a greater education, towards a knowledge-based society. Education and training in continuity and access to information and communication is more than necessary for any of us. I think e-learning is one of the ways to get closer to latest information, developments in a short period of time. Less time, and more opportunities – that is what offers the new “virtual era”, where the world can be ‘reached’ in some seconds, learning anywhere and anytime about anything. ... As a beginner e-learner, the involvement for ten weeks in the Virtual School of “Dialogue, Democracy and Peaceful Conflict Education” satisfied me a lot. During this time I could work as well as study at my own pace and convenience saving thus precious time..."
Bashmir Xhemaj, Prizren: "I consider this form of learning as especially applicable for those involved in the field I am currently working, namely political journalism. It made me possible to combine work and studying, in order to keep them in parallel."
Dita Bytyci, Pristina: "I applied to this school with the purpose of acquiring knowledge and skills for my future studies and I am very satisfied with the results. Participating in this school taught me about the concept of dialogue and building a good society.
The greatest thing about this school is the diversity of participants; everyone is smart and motivated. The best part is that everyone has different backgrounds and interests, and because of this diversity, we are able to grow from our experience of interactive discussions."
Generation III
Besnik Krasniqi: “ Learning from the distance was something new and very interesting to me. It is also important for this way of learning, to be developed more in the countries of the “Third World”, which are unfamiliar with such way of learning. The winds of Globalization are touching us, so it’s important to stay in touch with contemporary world. Distant learning is being used as the normal way of learning in Western Countries, so why we might not use the same way? Let’s be promoted further!"
Ardita Zeqiri: “I think that it is a good form of learning, especially because of the fact that everyone works/studies other sides beside, and still being able to ‘attend’ lectures together was good. I found it very flexible and therefore I was able to follow with it. ”
Dragan Gracanin: “This is first time that I participate in concept of distant/virtual learning. I am very satisfied of method and quality of Nansen virtual school. My impression is in aspect of study independent of daily obligation. This is a model of study and development employed people.”
Maja Sakac: “I appreciate the idea of the creation of virtual institutions where resources are shared by people in physically unconnected places. This concept is very flexible and can be extremely useful and productive. This way of learning should always be promoted. It is good to learn something new. Although, in this particular case, the biggest problem lies in communication. It is hard to express ourselves and our point of view in foreign language, and from my perspective, language barriers are the biggest obstacle of VS.”
Sejla Maslo: “I think virtual learning is the future of studying, learning and educating, especially in the field of non-formal education. It easy, fast, it doesn’t take a lot of time; you can take part in this form of education from your home. ”
Jasmina Colic: “I’ve found it as a great method of obtaining a specific education especially for the people living in areas that have few educational opportunities. Distance learning require a certain level of autonomy of the learners, a solid self motivation/discipline while is also very convenient in terms of time management and general study conditions. Some of advantages and pros for further promotion of distance learning methods are also: Allows a broader perspective by interacting with people from other parts of the Region, Work at your own pace, Flexibile schedule ”
Alma Mrgan: “This is my first experience in DL learning, and I must admit that it’s an excellent way of learning – one doesn’t have to sit or be at certain time to receive a lecture, and no one can make you read or learn about something, it’s totally up to you.”
Ranko Simunovic: “Yes, this is definitely way of learning that goes along with new age of informatics technologies, speed of life and global exchange of information. Virtual school like this one is a great possibility for people from different countries and regions to participate and exchange their attitudes.”
Nenad Bumbic:” Distant learning needs to be promoted for multitude of reasons. Here I just stated two of which to Nansen first maybe especially relevant: 1) Good way of establishing joint education efforts between conflicting sides 2) Need to bridge the gap in education and information possibilities - in small town’s and large city centers - Poor and rich. Increase using of computers will make this form of school more efficient but still teaching techniques must be developed to suite distance learning. With increase of broadband availability even in former Yugoslavia one can hope that truly interactive forms of Virtual school can be used, maybe in even next year Nansen. It may be good to test possibility of including real time lessons and Q & A”
Aleksandra Zivkovic: “I think that distant learning is more than acceptable because it is, first of all, very practical and it leaves enough of time for reading, thinking and for a process of learning in general. Also, meeting people from different countries through this kind of learning is a reason more for me to approving distant learning. This way of education should be practiced in the future work of Virtual school.”
Ljupco Efremov:” The concept of distant learning is an excellent opportunity for learning. This concept gives individual approach to learning and there are accents on freedom in choosing topics of interest. This way of education should be promoted because it creates opportunities for new active way of learning.”
Generation II
Barisic
Larisa, Novi Sad:
“...I
strongly approve and support the concept
of distant learning. It has been developed
in Western countries and already proved
to have excellent results. For many reasons,
people are not in a position to attend
educational
programs, and often this is the only way
how to involve interested and qualified
persons in one course, module,... By virtual
learning
something that seemed impossible, now becomes
possible.
Unfortunately, in Serbia, the concept of
distant learning still sounds too unfamiliar
and therefore
it has to be promoted further....”
Naida
Pekmezovic, Sarajevo:
” ...
I really support such projects or kind
of education when
participant is able to acquire and spread
knowledge with no limits. It provides
people in faster way to communicate on
distance
and share experience and meet new people
or people of the same interest. It’s
also a great way to communicate and learn
and
teach with no charge with such area experts.
It’s unique experience that everyone
should be a part. Many people are busy
or unable
to take education otherwise, but they
have something interesting and useful to
say
and teach. This way of communication
gives them that chance!...”
Bojan
Stanojlovic, Belgrade:
“...Distant learning
is particularly important for
people who have different life
obligations that prevent them from
regular attendance of other educational
forms.
Distant learning is also good
opportunity for additional
education, performed at the same time
as regular education. It is also an
extra possibility for persons with disabilities,
so it definitely
should be promoted...”
Florent Hajrizi, Mitrovice:
“...I
consider that you can learn a lot this
way too, if
willing exists,
and
I strongly recommend that you continue
with another generation of virtual
school, so
that more people can benefit from these
very useful
lectures that Virtual School project
offers...”
Emina
Esapovic, Conoplja:
“...Yes,
it should be promoted, because today people
haven’t much time,
and it is good they can read, write,
give answers
when it suits them. Also it covers
a wide territory at the same time
and offers
to
people to communicate
with each other easily...”
Marijana
Skanata, Tivat:
“ It
is a very good form of education and I
believe that
it will
definitely go further in future.”
Vesna
Matovic, lecturer, generation
II:
”...It
is a good way for people to think about
issues that
are important for them, and share it with
other participants in forums and discussions.
It should be promoted further as a way
of connecting people virtually and as a
way
of starting deeper thinking..."
Elton
Skendaj, lecturer, generation II:
“...I
think it is an open way to continue education.
Of course, the best
communities happen in a physical, rather
than virtual place, but internet opens
up opportunities for many people to interact
and learn from each other in novel way...”
Miodrag Erakovic, project
coordinator of V.S. in 2004:
“ Regional virtual school was a very positive experience for us as much as for the participants. The people who couldn't get in touch personally were gathered on one place and we enabled the way to break stereotype and prejudices which have been accumulated during the last 15 years. We issued the subjects which were directly or indirectly connected with everything that has been happening in this region. Using their own experience, the participants gave a significant contribution to every subject discussing situations in which specific principles could be used in more quality way. Of great importance was connecting the people who had a wish to meet each other after they had exchanged mails and made contact and collaborated. Also, they expressed a wish to exchange their opinions, which wasn't possible on this occasion, and which would be desirable via Web forum during the continuation of the activities.”
Elma Spahić, Sarajevo
“...The most useful and also most pleasant knowledge through this school was that I found people in this region who honestly want to go forward. I learned a lot through the work and part of work for some of us, not only lecturers. It made me happy when I understood that there are a lot of us who want changes and recognize defects of our countries, societies, behaviors and honestly and openly talk about them.
These lectures can be very useful – especially for people who want to learn and who will know how to use their knowledge, knowing that Human Rights and Democracy are inevitable for each individual today who wish like to live according to the principles of modern society.
I think that this school gives basics for each of us to develop our awareness, in order to make a better life and co-existence with others and interest for broadening knowledge from these areas...”
Amina Pasic, Sarajevo
“...I think that this way of virtual lecturing
is very useful, surely by taking into consideration
also other methods in education. As prof.
Djuro Susnjic said once : Formal system of
education presented by educational institutions
cannot satisfy all the needs and wishes for
education. Because of that, there is a conflict
between traditional educational system and
personal needs and wishes, which are not
considered by that system. Unformal education
needs to be viewed not only as the alternative
to the formal educational system, but as
a criticism to one : a right to stand up
against oldfashioned and outworn school,
as well as the right to choose your own faith.
It is very important to be well educated,
and this is one of the ways to education.
It is very good and useful for everyone who
wants to get new knowledge, and to apply
it as often as they want...”
Danijela Vidovic, Banja Luka
“...I participated in these virtual lectures for the first time, and I can say that it is possible to learn something new with a minumum use of free time. But, I also think that we can be more effective by having at least one, or optimum two additional seminars (opening and closing one)...”
Filip Milicevic, Split
"...I participated in project like
this for the first time, so I think that
schedule,
content and duration of lectures should be
more defined. Considering that, this was
your first attempt of organizing such activity
, I think that it was designed satisfactory
and lectures and organization will be even
better in the future..."
Ivana Cuzovic, Niksic
«...This way of lecturing is not only useful but very practical, so I consider that it should be more used in the future...»
Naida Trkic, Sarajevo
«...Personally, this school was very useful, considering minimum experience I had with the topics covered by this course. Unfortunetely, there was almost no close interaction among participants, which understimated usefulness of the school. But, considering the limited possibilities of the school, the course was well organized...»
Predrag Malesic, Podgorica
“...I think it is very useful, for two reasons: easy way of distributing and sharing the lessons and what is more important, it was certainly very hard to make heterogenous but as effective group as ours, and I am sending you my gratulation... «
