As
a project director for “Dialogue
and Peacebuilding” my responsibilities
have been 1) to select participants
(potential leaders) from former Yugoslavia
to participate in training programs
in Norway, 2) to design the training
program and 3) to conduct the seminars.
The challenging part of the job has
been the follow-up work, which includes
dialogue seminars in the region,
the establishment of ten Nansen Dialogue
Centers in Macedonia, Montenegro,
Serbia and Kosovo, Bosnia Herzegovina
and Croatia.
As Senior Project Consultant - During the years 1997-2005 I have
conducted
more than 100 dialogue seminars,
mainly between Serbs and Albanians
from Kosovo and South Serbia, between
Macedonians and Albanians from Macedonia,
more general dialogue seminars in
Montenegro and Bosnia Herzegovina.,
but also joint seminars with larger
groups – including seminars in Betlehem
and Jerusalem with Israelis, Arabs
and Palestinians.

Enver DJULIMAN
was born on 11 January 1959, in Mostar.
He finished the Faculty of Law 1983, in Sarajevo and the studies of intercultural understanding at the University in Oslo, 2002.
He works as a chief of the department for education of the Helsinki committee for Human Rights of Norway, Oslo.
In 2000 he published the book “Difficult Reconciliation” and in 2002 “Introduction to Human Rights”.
He writes for Norwegian daily newspapers Aftenposten, Dagbladet, VG and Klassekampen.
In 2003 he received Blans Mayor award for his work on reconciliation. |

Erik CLEVEN
was born in the United States in 1965.
He received a BA from St. Olaf College
in Minnesota in 1987 and a MSc from
the University of Oslo in 1992.
For the last 11 years he has been involved
in dialogue and peacebuilding work
and has held seminars on peacebuilding,
conflict management and human rights
in Russia, the North Caucasus, Ukraine,
Belarus, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro,
Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia,
Great Britain, Denmark and the United
States.
He has led a project to facilitate
dialogue between Chechen and Russian
civil society actors and has also been
involved in interethnic dialogue work
in the former Yugoslavia.
In the last two years he has been lecturing
in peace studies in colleges and universities
in Norway and the United States and
was in 2004 and 2005 Kloeck-Jensen
Visiting Assistant Professor at St.
Olaf College.
He is based at Nansenskolen
in Lillehammer, Norway, where he lives
with his wife
and four children. |

Žarko PUHOVSKI
Born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, 1946. After studies in Zagreb (physics and political sciences) and Frankfurt (philosophy) he was an assistant and then professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Zagreb. Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Study (Wissenschaftskolleg) in Berlin. Visiting professor at the Free University in Berlin, European University center for Peace Studies in Stadtschlaining (Austria) and at the University of Klagenfurt; occasional lectures at universities in Berlin, London, Oxford, Budapest, Madrid, Bologna, etc. Member of the Transcend network, of Advisory Panel of The European Journal of Philosophy and of the Standing committee on intersocietal relations of the Ethikon Institute, Los Angeles. Was awarded the European Club of Rectors Extraordinary Award for Peace and against Xenophobia 1993.
Author of numerous studies and essays and seven books (Interest and Community, 1975; Context of Culture, 1979; History and Revolution, 1980; Reason and Society, 1989; Socialist Construction of Reality, 1990; Dictionary of Basic Political Terms, 1990; Politics and Economy of Transition, 1993). Numerous articles on these items and problems connected with the post-communist transition and the post-Yugoslav wars were printed in English and German.
Žarko Puhovski was co-founder of the first alternative political movement in former Yugoslavia in the year 1988, and of the Croatian Helsinki Committee for human rights in 1993. |
